“A portrait of my children once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Lillia: This week you have been in full-on Nutcracker rehearsal mode. You’ve had a rehearsal every day since Wednesday, and four performances scheduled for the weekend, including one tonight. I know you really enjoy doing these performances but I can tell that they take their toll on you, both physically and emotionally. You’ve been very tearful for the past couple of days, and things that wouldn’t normally bother you have really gotten under your skin. I know you will be okay, though, and I can’t wait to see you up on that stage tonight!

Zane: This week you had your first concert! Your preschool class performed three songs for what I thought was quite a large crowd (lots of parents, grandparents, family and friends in attendance). You were adorable. I really can’t express how cute you all were, and I am so impressed that you made it through the whole thing. You lost your place a few times, probably because you didn’t get to practice very much due to missing so much school, but you really looked like you were having a good time! I have some very cute pictures and videos of the show, which I will post soon.
