life lessons // gratitude 1
From “What Was Told, That” by Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273)

What was said to the rose that made it open was said
to me here in my chest.

I don’t tend to write very much on this little blog of mine. I usually just rely on my photos to express my sentiments, whatever they may be. But, today I need to use a few words. I want to say thank you to my family for stepping up, no questions asked, and helping me work through a difficult situation (who knew that gardening was so fraught with peril?). It is rare in adult life to feel truly “taken care of,” but yesterday that is exactly what happened to me. I felt surrounded, protected, and loved, and I want to thank you all for that gift.

My heart is full, and I am so grateful to all of you.

* these photos are unrelated, but still nice to look at 🙂
